R.T. Moore Co., Inc. seeks a CAD Designer II to produce detailed plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical drawings for residential, multi-family, and commercial projects. You'll develop coordinated models, layouts, and shop drawings from engineering designs, applying construction standards, codes, and company best practices. Partner with project managers, field teams, and engineers to resolve clashes, improve constructability, and support design-build delivery. Responsibilities
- Produce detailed plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical CAD drawings and models
- Develop coordinated layouts and shop drawings from engineering designs
- Apply relevant building codes, standards, and company drafting practices
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to resolve design conflicts
- Perform basic clash detection and coordinate with other trades
- Maintain drawing accuracy, revisions, and documentation standards
- Prepare drawing sets for permitting, fabrication, and installation
- Support design-build and value-engineering efforts
- Assist with updating standard details, templates, and CAD/BIM libraries
- Contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Required Skills
- Auto
- CADRevit or similar BIM software
- Mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC drafting
- Reading and interpreting construction documents3
- D modeling and clash detection
- Knowledge of building codes and standards
- Construction detailing for MEP systems
- Coordination with field and engineering teams
- Sheet setup and plotting standards
