Rolls Royce Motor Cars seeks a Mechanical Control Units Design Engineer to develop precision mechanical control units for ultra luxury vehicles. You will design and validate mechanisms, actuators, and interfaces that integrate with electronic control systems, ensuring safety, reliability, and refined user feel. Responsibilities include CAD design, tolerance and stack up analysis, DFMEA, prototyping, and test coordination. You'll collaborate with cross functional teams, suppliers, and BMW Group partners in a craftsmanship focused environment that prizes innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical control units and mechanisms from concept to production using CAD tools
- Perform tolerance analysis, DFMEA, and design optimization for safety and reliability
- Develop and validate prototypes, coordinating lab and vehicle testing
- Collaborate with electrical, software, manufacturing, and quality teams to integrate systems
- Define technical requirements, specifications, and documentation for components and assemblies
- Support supplier selection, technical reviews, and industrialization activities
- Ensure compliance with automotive standards, safety regulations, and Rolls Royce quality targets
- Drive continuous improvement in design methods, materials use, and manufacturability
