Responsibilities:
- Examine the financial results of demolition and excavation jobs to identify cost trends, margin performance, and areas for improvement.
- Track profitability and operating efficiency across a fleet of more than 40 trucks by reviewing usage, expenses, and performance data.
- Prepare and maintain project cost reports, ensuring expenses are recorded accurately and aligned with budgets and job activity.
- Analyze job-level profit and loss statements and present findings that help leadership evaluate operational and financial results.
- Use Excel and other reporting tools to organize large data sets, perform detailed cost analysis, and support decision-making.
- Partner with project and operations teams to gather information from both field and office sources for accurate financial reporting.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing cost monitoring for construction-related work and equipment operations.
- Investigate variances in labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs, then recommend practical actions to improve performance. Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in cost accounting, project accounting, or a closely related accounting role.
- Background in construction project accounting is strongly preferred; manufacturing cost accounting experience may also be considered.
- Solid understanding of cost analysis, standard costing, and project-based financial reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze detailed operational and financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience reviewing profit and loss performance at the project or asset level.
- Ability to communicate financial findings clearly and work effectively with cross-functional teams, including field personnel.
