DOR-Revenue Specialist

• Provide technical and procedural assistance to taxpayers and representatives.
• Conduct extensive research to resolve complex payment and return issues.
• Create billings/liabilities according to court orders and adjust penalties and interest.
• Collect evidence and prepare documents for investigations.
• Complete disclosure requests for confidential taxpayer information.
• Research and develop cases for non-filing taxpayer entities.
• Perform audit tests on financial documents and analyze results.
• Maintain and track assessments and collections efforts.
• Identify inconsistencies and abnormal trends through systematic reviews.

• Eight (8) years of experience in accounting, tax collection, finance, or customer service.
• Extensive knowledge of state and federal tax laws and regulations.
• Specialized knowledge of DOR software and database applications.
• Proficiency in accounting principles and auditing practices.
• Ability to systematically review financial documents and identify discrepancies.
• Strong organizational and critical thinking skills.

• Experience using tracking and database systems for assessments and collections.
• Familiarity with taxpayer accounting and auditing systems.
• Ability to discuss and settle technical tax matters tactfully.
