Special Tax Excise - Revenue Specialist

Contract Tax Analyst

We are seeking detail-oriented and motivated contract tax analysts to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing excise tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance across various tax types, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities include:

• Processing excise tax returns and performing cross-checks across multiple tax types.
• Staying informed on annual legislative changes and understanding their impact on tax types and returns.
• Ensuring timely and accurate processing of all tax returns.
• Providing technical and procedural assistance to taxpayers, their representatives, and internal divisions.
• Collaborating with other divisions within the agency and with state agencies.
• Answering customer phone calls and assisting with inquiries.
• Processing registrations and licensing forms, verifying all required documents for compliance.
• Maintaining high standards of customer service and compliance throughout all interactions.

Qualifications include:

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply legislative changes.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Experience in tax processing or related administrative work preferred.
• High school diploma or GED.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
• Solid computer skills, Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Basic math skills.
• Strong customer service background with a professional demeanor.
