Congressional And Legislative Liaison Specialist

Duties

Serves as a Congressional and Legislative Liaison responsible for monitoring and advising DFAS leadership and subject matter experts on congressional items of interest, such as pay, budget, audit readiness, and financial management oversight issues.

Researches, analyzes, and develops information on congressional activities and legislative actions of considerable scope, complexity, and importance to DFAS.

Develops and maintains DFAS-wide plans, policies, and procedures for the Congressional and Legislative Liaison Program. Identifies procedural framework for initiation, coordination, and submission of items to DFAS Leadership.

Researches legislative AuR issues and disseminates information to functional experts. Serves as the communication lead for the DFAS Senior Steering Committee. Develops AuR communications for the Services and other Defense Agency customers.

Maintains broad knowledge of the roles and missions across the organization to facilitate responding to requests from Members of Congress and the defense oversight committees.
