Join an innovative Safety Testing Team at a central laboratory facility, specializing in testing services and bioanalysis. The team is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist to contribute long-term to quality patient care.

Responsibilities

* Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.

* Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.

* Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.

* Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.

* Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.

* Report accurate and timely test results.

* Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.

* Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.

* Assist with processing of specimens when needed.

* Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Essential Skills

* Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, or Medical Laboratory Technology.

* Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related life science field and 12+ months of CLIA/CAP lab testing experience within the same specialty as this role.

Skills & Qualifications

* ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

* Instrument troubleshooting and calibration experience.

* Prior validation experience.

* Proficient with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems.

* Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

* High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.

* Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen.

* Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.

Work Environment

Work onsite at the Indianapolis facility with a rotating schedule of Monday-Friday (1st week) and Tuesday-Saturday (2nd week), lending to working every other Saturday. Shift hours are from 7 am to 4 pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
