Job Details
• Pediatric critical care setting at a children's hospital,
• Home unit assignment will be NICU, PICU, or Peds, determined upon arrival and subject to change based on facility need,
• Primarily assigned to L&D responsibilities,
• Day shift, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM,
• Schedule is four 12-hour shifts per week,
• Every other weekend (EOW) required,
• Floating to PICU, NICU, Peds, and an affiliate hospital may occur,
• Cerner EMR - experience required,
Job Requirements
• Active Indiana (IN) state RRT license required; IN temporary license accepted provided a permanent license application has also been submitted - license required if applicable,
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NBRC RRT, NRP,
• PALS preferred,
• Minimum 2 years of PICU or NICU experience required,
• Children's hospital experience within the last 3 years required; candidates with Level I adult trauma facility experience may be considered,
• L&D experience required,
• Education must be accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA,
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• 2 supervisor references required,
• SSN and DOB required for consideration,
• Local (Indiana resident) candidates are accepted for this Allied position,
Additional Information
• Provide respiratory therapy services across pediatric specialty units including PICU, NICU, and general Peds,
• Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation;
Servo U experience preferred,
• Proficient with a broad range of inhaled medications and nebulizer delivery systems,
• Competency in airway management, tracheostomy care, ABG interpretation, and pulmonary hygiene,
• AHA and RQI certifications are accepted and must be current,
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays,
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be approved; additional RTO requires facility approval,
• Any current or former permanent or PRN IU Health employee must have a 12-month break before being eligible to work as a traveler,
• Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset travel eligibility - contact your recruiter for details,
