Job Details
• Position is based at a children's hospital in Indiana within a Respiratory Therapy PICU unit,
• Home unit may be NICU, PICU, or Peds, and may be reassigned based on facility need,
• Pediatric and neonatal patient population, with primary focus in labor and delivery,
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM,
• Every other weekend (EOW) required,
• Floating to PICU, NICU, Peds, and an affiliate hospital is required,
• Cerner EMR - experience required,
• 13-week contract,
Job Requirements
• Active Indiana RN license required prior to start date;
Indiana temporary license accepted if permanent license application has been submitted - license required if applicable,
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NBRC RRT, NRP,
• PALS preferred,
• Minimum 2 years of PICU and/or NICU experience required,
• Children's hospital experience within the last 3 years required; strong candidates with Level I Trauma adult facility experience may be considered,
• L&D experience required,
• Education must be accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA,
• 2 supervisor references required,
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration,
• Proficiency with pediatric respiratory equipment including ventilators (BiPAP, CPAP, Servo U), nebulizers, tracheostomy care, and airway management,
• Experience with inhaled medications including Albuterol, Nitric Oxide (iNO), Inhaled Flolan, and related agents,
• Skills in ABG interpretation, extubation, pulmonary hygiene, and weaning from mechanical ventilation,
Additional Information
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position,
• Local candidates (Indiana residents) are accepted for this Allied position,
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be approved without facility review; additional RTO requires facility approval,
• Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays,
• Any current or former permanent or PRN employee of IU Health must have a 12-month gap before being eligible to apply as a traveler,
• Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are subject to a consecutive break policy to reset travel eligibility - contact your recruiter for details,
• AHA and RQI certifications are accepted and must be current,
• NRP may be obtained after offer is extended for candidates placed in L&D, per facility policy,
