Summary

This exciting opportunity is for a Medical Lab Scientist to join their team as a long-term addition to their group for a leading clinical health care diagnostics company. Specializing in testing services supporting hematology and specialty chemistry in Indianapolis! The team is seeking a Medical Lab Scientist to contribute long-term to quality patient care.

Responsibilities

* Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.

* Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.

* Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.

* Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.

* Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.

* Report accurate and timely test results.

* Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.

* Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.

* Assist with processing of specimens when needed.

* Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Qualifications

* BS/AS Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, OR Medical Laboratory Technology (No experience required with these degrees).

* Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related life science field AND 12+ months of CLIA/CAP lab testing experience.

* Experience in Chemistry, Immunology, Hematology, and Immunochemistry.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

* ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

* Instrument troubleshooting and calibration experience.

* Prior validation experience.

* Proficient with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems.

* Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

* High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.

* Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
