Job Details
• Position is based in a NICU at a children's hospital in Indiana, with home unit assignment (NICU, PICU, or Peds) determined upon arrival,
• Primary placement in Labor & Delivery (L&D); L&D experience is required,
• Floating required to PICU and some Pediatric Acute Care, as well as potentially to affiliate hospitals nearby,
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00-19:00),
• Every other weekend (EOW) required,
• Cerner EMR; charting experience required,
• 13-week contract,
Job Requirements
• Current Indiana state license or Compact License required (if applicable),
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and NBRC RRT,
• PALS preferred,
• Minimum 2 years of NICU or PICU experience required,
• Children's hospital experience within the last 3 years required; strong clinicians with Level I adult trauma facility experience may be considered,
• L&D experience required,
• Education must be accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA,
• 2 supervisor references required for consideration,
• SSN and DOB required for consideration,
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Proficiency with pediatric respiratory skills including ventilator management, CPAP/BiPAP, airway management, tracheostomy care, and ABG interpretation,
• Experience with pediatric medication administration including albuterol, racemic epinephrine, nitric oxide, and inhaled steroids,
Additional Information
• Candidates must be prepared to work 2 out of 3 major holidays,
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO may be auto-approved; additional RTO requires facility approval,
• Local candidates (Indiana residents) are accepted for this Allied position,
• Any current or former permanent or PRN IU Health employee must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler,
• Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset travel eligibility (effective 2/24/26),
• Out-of-state residents require a 90-day break, and in-state residents require a 180-day break to reset eligibility prior to their year mark,
• AHA and RQI certifications are accepted and must be current,
• Note for IN RN travelers: IU Health does not allow IN RNs to work at their facilities; however, Allied travelers are exempt from this restriction,
