Location Information

Onsite – Indianapolis, Indiana. Initial six-month engagement with potential to extend or convert to full-time.

Position Responsibilities:

As a Storage Platform Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting global storage and backup operations across enterprise infrastructure environments. You will ensure robust storage delivery and backup solutions within both private and public cloud platforms, leveraging automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled operations for greater efficiency and reliability. This position involves partnering with cross-functional teams to drive availability, resiliency, and operational excellence throughout global infrastructure platforms.

• Lead daily operations for global storage and backup systems supporting enterprise infrastructure.
• Administer and troubleshoot storage block and file services in private and public cloud environments.
• Drive AI-powered operations, implement event-driven automation, and advance observability initiatives.
• Introduce repeatable operational patterns to improve platform availability and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with storage engineering to provide strategic input on storage platform direction.
• Independently troubleshoot and resolve complex storage infrastructure issues in large-scale environments.
• Work with Windows and Linux engineers to identify and mitigate storage-related performance issues.
• Support management of cloud infrastructure and drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives.
• Develop, contribute to, and maintain automation solutions to further operational efficiency.
• Support and sometimes lead large-scale, global infrastructure projects and initiatives.
• Participate in rotational work schedules or on-call responsibilities as required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field.
• Four to seven years of experience working as a Storage Platform Engineer or similar role in large-scale enterprises.
• Hands-on expertise with Dell SAN storage and backup solutions deployed within enterprise environments.
• Strong background in administering storage environments—block and file—across private and public clouds.
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise-grade storage administration and resiliency at scale.
• Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence-enabled automation tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or related technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of CIFS, SMB, NFS, and multi-protocol storage solutions.
• Basic but proven Linux system administration proficiency.
• Experience using automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet.
• Excellent analytical and complex problem-solving skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Demonstrated cross-functional team collaboration within global or distributed work forces.
• Experience delivering consistent, high-quality technical solutions within agile team environments.

  Cloud certifications (e.g., Azure, AWS), or demonstrated knowledge of public cloud environments.
• Experience with Azure and AWS Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platforms.
• Direct experience with Dell storage and backup management tools.
• Proven record leading global-scale infrastructure or cloud migration initiatives.
• Support experience with AI and Machine Learning infrastructure environments.
