Indianapolis, Indiana - Onsite engagement 6+ Months Shift coverage: 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM Eastern Standard Time or 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time Schedule rotation:
Monday through Friday or Thursday through Monday
As a Windows Platform Operations Engineer, you will play a key role in enabling global enterprise infrastructure operations by bringing your expertise in Windows administration, automation, and proactive system management. This onsite position focuses on driving operational excellence through the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, such as AIOps and event-driven automation, while supporting the modernization and reliability of mission-critical platforms.
- Lead initiatives to eliminate recurring infrastructure issues using AIOps, automation, and observability frameworks.
- Advance automation and cloud-centric projects to support key business objectives and transformation initiatives.
- Design and implement predictive and automated monitoring for optimizing operational processes.
- Administer and support Windows Server environments (2016, 2019, 2022) to ensure stability, performance, and compliance.
- Conduct routine server administration: patching, configuration management, and compliance monitoring to uphold standards.
- Troubleshoot complex operating system and hardware issues, working closely with internal teams and technology vendors.
- Administer Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, and domain services for effective identity management and security.
- Monitor, tune, and optimize server resources for high availability and performance within diverse and dynamic workloads.
- Develop and manage Ansible playbooks for system configuration, patching, and deployment tasks.
- Create, update, and maintain Power Shell scripts to automate recurring operational activities.
- Implement and support automation solutions using Ansible (including Tower/AWX), WSUS, and related technologies.
- Apply artificial intelligence-enabled automation tools (such as Claude Code or Codex) to enhance engineering and support operations.
- Utilize ITIL-aligned processes, leveraging Service Now for incident, problem, and change management activities.
- Lead critical incident resolution and perform root cause analysis to minimize downtime and service interruptions.
- Execute and oversee infrastructure changes in production, ensuring minimal risk and disruption to users and applications.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership during enterprise infrastructure deployments and upgrades across the organization's global footprint.
- Champion initiatives that boost large scale infrastructure availability, resiliency, and operational process maturity.
• 5–7+ years of experience as a Windows Server or Platform Engineer in enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated expertise deploying, administering, and supporting Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 at scale.
• In-depth experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy management, and WSUS patch management.
• Strong proficiency in Power Shell scripting for operational automation and efficiency.
• Professional experience with automation/configuration management using Ansible and Ansible Tower or AWX.
Skills:
• Track record managing or supporting large-scale global VMware ESX infrastructures.
• Understanding of infrastructure platforms supporting AI/ML workloads.
• Experience leading multi-region enterprise infrastructure deployments and upgrades.
