Job Overview:
As the Buyer
- Manufacturing Production you will be responsible for preparing, planning, issuing and controlling purchase orders for Rolls-Royce Defense Aerospace. In this role you will also coordinate with Program Teams on program requirements to ensure required materials are timed to meet production deadlines. We are one of the largest global providers of defense aero-engine products and services with 18,000 engines and 160 customers in 103 countries.

Our engines power aircraft in every major sector, including: transport, combat, patrol, trainers, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintaining requirements using SAP, negotiation, and supplier management to execute purchase orders with suppliers
  • Creating and editing documents using Microsoft Office products, to include Excel
  • Prioritizing your workload and working to achieve deadlines, whilst managing business expectations
  • Thinking strategically to drive the purchasing agenda, delivering on value and quality
  • Interfacing and leading cross functional teams
  • Understanding load and capacity constraints within a supplier that may impact performance and delivery
  • Must be able to travel domestically 15%

Basic:

  • Associates Degree with 6+ years of experience in supply change management, purchasing, and/or production planning within an Engineering, Manufacturing, and/or Logistics environment OR
  • Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years of experience in supply change management, purchasing, and/or production planning within an Engineering, Manufacturing, and/or Logistics environment OR
  • Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management
  • In lieu of degree 10+ years' experience in supply change management, purchasing, and/or production planning within an Engineering, Manufacturing, and/or Logistics environment
  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Preferred :

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management with 2+ years of experience in supply change management, purchasing, and/or production planning within an Engineering, Manufacturing, and/or Logistics environment
  • Extensive SAP experience working with Supply Chain and Purchasing functions
  • Experience working with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 15 and FAR 12 U.S. Government purchasing requirements
