Racker / Packer – Production Support (Large Parts Department)
This role provides hands-on production support in the large parts department, primarily focusing on racking, packing, and visual inspection of components. You will work as a floater, assisting across different areas as needed to ensure parts move smoothly through the painting and finishing processes while maintaining quality and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Rack parts in preparation for painting processes, ensuring correct placement and secure attachment to racks.
- Remove parts from racks after the paint process is complete, handling components carefully to avoid damage.
- Visually inspect finished products for wet processing defects and other quality issues, following established standards.
- Pack parts according to detailed work instructions, including proper labeling, arrangement, and protection of components.
- Perform general labor tasks on the production line, including lifting and moving parts as required.
- Assist in different departments as needed to support overall production flow and meet scheduling demands.
- Follow all safety guidelines, housekeeping standards, and company procedures while working in the production area.
- Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors about any quality concerns, production issues, or process improvements.
Essential Skills
- Experience with racking and un-racking parts in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in visual inspection of finished products to identify defects and quality issues.
- Hands-on experience with packing and packaging processes in a production setting.
- Ability to perform general labor duties, including working on a production line and lifting parts as needed.
- Capability to follow written work instructions and established procedures accurately.
- Willingness to work as a floater and support multiple departments based on production needs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with wet processing or painting operations for large parts.
- Comfort working with repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork, reliability, and a positive attitude toward supporting different areas of the plant.

Work Environment
This is a first-shift position with hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, including a 30-minute lunch break and two 15-minute breaks. The role is based in a manufacturing environment within a large parts department, where you will work on and around production lines, racking systems, and packing stations. The work involves general labor and lifting, and you will handle parts before and after painting and wet processing.
You can expect a structured schedule, consistent daytime hours, and a production setting where safety procedures and proper attire are important.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $21.00/hr.
