Maintenance Technician Level II
Location:
Indianapolis, IN 2nd Shift (Working Hours between 6pm to 6am with a Payrate $33.42/hr) but requires Training for 4-8 weeks. During Training candidate will be working 1st Shift (Working Hours between 6am to 6pm with ST Payrate $32.92/hr).
Summary:
Experienced Maintenance Technician assigned on a temporary basis through Kelly Services, supporting a high-volume manufacturing operation in Indianapolis. Focused on ensuring production machinery and systems remain fully operational by identifying and executing repairs, performing preventive maintenance, and collaborating with vendors and other technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshot, maintained, and repaired a wide range of plant production equipment and systems including PLCs (Allen Bradley), frequency drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, servo motors, refrigeration, boiler, and HVAC systems.
- Interpreted blueprints, drawings, and technical manuals to diagnose issues and plan repairs.
- Assisted in performing scheduled preventive maintenance to optimize machine reliability and reduce downtime.
- Estimated materials and costs for maintenance tasks and laid out work accordingly.
- Utilized trade-specific and general tools and equipment with proficiency.
- Maintained accurate records and inventories; ensured a clean and organized work area.
- Coordinated repairs with vendors and other technicians as needed.
- Supported sanitary design standards and food production requirements, applying knowledge of Six Sigma and 5S principles where appropriate.
- Adapted readily to alternative work schedules and shifts to meet operational needs.
- Demonstrated strong team motivation, mechanical and electrical aptitude, and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing maintenance or related technical discipline, or completion of a relevant technical degree.
- High mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience in food manufacturing and sanitary standards (preferred).
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and documentation.
Physical/Movement Abilities:
Regular standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, and range of motion consistent with active duties in a manufacturing maintenance setting.
