Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift
This role supports a fast-paced manufacturing operation on 2nd shift by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of production equipment to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency. The Maintenance Technician applies strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic skills, performs preventative maintenance, and uses an ERP system to document work while contributing to a safe and reliable production environment.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems to minimize equipment downtime and support continuous production.
- Diagnose and resolve production equipment issues quickly and effectively to maintain consistent output and product quality.
- Replace bearings, chains, sprockets, valves, and other machine components as needed to restore proper equipment function.
- Support the maintenance and repair of cutting tables, tempering ovens, water jets, polishing equipment, laser systems, cranes, and related machinery.
- Perform basic welding repairs and light fabrication work to repair or modify equipment components and structures.
- Conduct preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
- Use ERP systems to create, update, and close maintenance work orders, accurately documenting work performed and parts used.
- Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize tasks and coordinate equipment repairs.
- Follow safety procedures and best practices while working on electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Inspect equipment regularly and report any issues, hazards, or improvement opportunities to help maintain a safe and efficient facility.
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred, working in a manufacturing or similar production environment.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical systems, including conveyors and other production equipment.
- Proficiency with pneumatic systems, including diagnosing and repairing related components.
- Experience with electrical troubleshooting on production machinery and support systems.
- Ability to replace bearings, valves, chains, sprockets, and related mechanical components.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance practices and schedules for industrial equipment.
- Ability to use an ERP system or similar software to track maintenance activities and work orders.
- Basic welding and fabrication skills, with the ability to perform minor repairs and modifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on 2nd shift.
- Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with both older and newer machines, including some automation.
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience maintaining cutting tables, tempering ovens, water jets, polishing equipment, laser systems, and cranes.
- Experience supporting both legacy equipment and modern automated systems.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with production and maintenance teams.
- Detail-oriented approach to documenting work and following established maintenance procedures.
- Willingness to work overtime when needed to support production demands.

This position is based in a manufacturing environment featuring a mix of older equipment and newer machines, including some automated systems. The role is on 2nd shift, with hours from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and operates on a stable Monday–Friday schedule with no Sunday work. You will work around cutting tables, tempering ovens, water jets, polishing equipment, laser systems, cranes, conveyors, and other production machinery.
The environment is hands-on and industrial, requiring regular interaction with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, and adherence to standard safety practices and appropriate industrial work attire.
This is a Permanent position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
