The Neurodiagnostic Institute and Advanced Treatment Center (NDI) is located on the Community Hospital East campus in Indianapolis, delivering advanced evaluations and treatments for patients with psychiatric illness. Together, the NDI and the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) offer a modern, healing atmosphere for all Hoosiers.

Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $71,500.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

A Day in the Life:

  • Program Administration Support
  • Prioritize and organize the daily care of individuals to ensure consistent and effective service delivery.
  • Make care assignments and assist in creating treatment plans in collaboration with other clinical staff to meet individual needs.
  • Provide orientation and support to staff and to the unit to maintain continuity and quality of care.
  • Direct support staff to coordinate workflow and communicate problems to the Charge Nurse Supervisor to ensure smooth operations.
  • Complete required documentation of nursing notes, transfer forms, and other records to maintain accurate and timely reporting.
  • Program Management Support
  • Provide ongoing assessment and documentation of individuals' physical and psychosocial status from admission to discharge to inform care decisions.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to state-operated health care facility policies and procedures to support recovery and wellness.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans for diagnosis or treatment plan changes to adapt to evolving needs.
  • Complete medication administration supervision monitors and clinical observation notes for support staff to ensure compliance and quality.
  • Respond and intervene in emergency situations and with agitated individuals to maintain safety and therapeutic environment.
  • Educate individuals and family members regarding medication, procedures, and treatment goals and objectives to promote understanding and engagement.
  • Ensure proper safety and infection control standards are met for the unit to protect staff and individuals.

What You'll Need for Success:

  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret nursing and facility policies and procedures.
  • Ability to serve as a patient advocate.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and ability to learn programs used in maintaining electronic medical records.
  • Ability to use MS Office applications and electronic patient records.
  • Ability to understand and apply medical and facility terminology.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to educate individuals and families regarding medication, procedures, and treatment goals.
  • Must possess an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college.
  • Must have a license to practice nursing in the State of Indiana as a Registered Nurse.
  • Must hold and maintain CPR certification.
  • Must stay current with behavioral intervention training.
  • Individuals should have the ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
