Clinical Operations Manager- NICU

Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody excellence, compassion, teamwork, and purpose to join our NICU leadership team in the role of Clinical Operations Manager. The clinical manager of operations combines clinical experience and contemporary leadership practices with the IU Health Way to achieve excellent outcomes. Accountable for translating and achieving our strategic priorities and outcomes: quality and safety improvements, care affordability, great patient experiences, and great team member experiences.
Accountable for providing strategic vision and operational planning for assigned unit. Incumbents will lead an interprofessional team to create an environment where the team is empowered to achieve excellence in patient and organizational outcomes. This role is accountable for advancing nursing practice by advocating and consistently embedding evidenced-based practices and professional nursing standards. Provides oversight of unit that is operational and staffed 24 x 7, weekends, and holidays.
Simon Family Tower NICU receives the majority of their patients from outside hospitals throughout the state. As a level IV NICU, SFT offers surgery services, body cooling, and ECMO. They are a 60 bed unit caring for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses including anomalies requiring surgical intervention such as omphalocele and gastroschisis, neurological disorders, genetic syndromes, and cardiac defects.
This role will also be supporting the Progressive Care NICU that opened earlier this year and will be a 12 bed unit located on the 8th floor of Simon Family Tower. The majority of the patients that we care for will be transferred from either Simon Family Tower or Riley Maternity Tower NICUs when they no longer require intensive care.
These patients may require respiratory support up to CPAP, feeding tubes, or continuous monitoring for variations in vital signs.
This is a fully onsite role Monday-Friday day shift. Availability for evening and weekend rounding, as well as on call availability, is needed. Experience in NICU or a strong leadership background are preferred.

Candidate QualificationsCandidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies:
- Requires a Bachelor of Nursing (BSN). If bachelor degree not in nursing, must have Master of Nursing (MSN).
- Masters degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
- Specialty certification related to nursing practice or leadership is preferred.
- Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Required Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
