American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric ICU position requiring 18 months of PICU experience and BLS/PALS certification.
Details- Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a children's hospital
- Day shift schedule (3x12 hours), 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Required to work holidays as part of the schedule
- Cerner charting system preferred
- Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
- Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 18 months of PICU experience required
- Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, administration of blood and blood products, central line/implanted line care, and PICC line management
- Experience caring for ventilated pediatric patients and respiratory management
- Skilled in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
- Knowledge of infection control, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols
- Proficient in pediatric dosage calculations and administration of medications including emergency medications
- 2 supervisor references required
- Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in the PICU
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates residing in Indiana are not accepted for this position
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
- Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must complete a designated break period to reset eligibility
