Electrical Inspector

Electrical Inspector - Contract

SGS is looking for an Electrical Inspector for a night shift contract in Indianapolis, Indiana. The inspector will be the resident electrical inspector on night shifts. The work schedule will be 4 to 5 nights a week starting in February/March for 4 to 6 weeks and then potentially again in June and August.

Responsibilities include:

• Conduct inspections in accordance with ISO
  2859.
• Verify Bill of Materials (BOM) items during production.
• Monitor vital quality parameters at the workshop.
• Perform pre-shipment inspections.
• Monitor 100% container loading.
• Ensure adherence to project specs, engineering drawings, and standards.
• Identify quality issues.
• Create detailed inspection reports and non-conformance reports.
• Record inspection results and non-conformities.
• Investigate non-conformities and assist in corrective actions.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers, engineers, and other personnel.

Qualifications include:

• Must have one of the IAEI, CEI, Comp Ex.
• Minimum of five (5) years of electrical inspection experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of industry experience in Oil & Gas / Power & Utility / Construction / Manufacturing, etc..
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Shop / vendor surveillance position.
• Must understand E&I processes, codes, and standards.
• Ensures electrical/instrumentation installations meet codes (NEC/IEC), specs, and safety standards.
• Be familiar with ISO
  2859 (global standard for acceptance sampling in quality control).
• Schedule – 12 hour night shifts.
• Length of contract:
  Contract to start as soon as possible for 4 to 6 weeks.
• Pay: $40-$47/hr + mileage as per the IRS guidelines.
• Expenses (Hotel, flight, meals, etc..) will be reimbursed licable only if job location is outside city of residence and having client prior approval.
