Location:
Kent, WA Pay Rate: $24.55 per hour
Shift: 3rd Shift
Job Summary:
Kelly Services is hiring a Temporary Quality Technician. Responsible for conducting quality checks on materials, packaging, processes, and products to ensure organizational goals and customer satisfaction are met. Acts as a safety role model and promotes a culture of safe working practices.
Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct quality inspections on finished goods, visually and physically verifying each item.
- Perform moisture checks using gravimetric and electronic methods (Aqua Measure, Max 1000, NDC).
- Assess UPC scan quality and glue weights using lab equipment.
- Inspect registration, print quality, appearance, and other visual attributes.
- Measure web width, repeat length, and other key dimensions.
- Produce color standards and product samples.
- Conduct coefficient of friction (COF) tests using friction testing equipment.
- Create handmade product samples (e.g., popcorn bags) for functional tests.
- Execute all prescribed testing protocols and quality-related duties as needed.
- Inspect incoming raw materials for wettability, optical density, solid content, and proper treatment.
- Complete lab tests, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports.
- Utilize required computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Promptly communicate quality and safety concerns to supervisors or line operators.
- Use all necessary personal protective equipment and foster a safe workspace.
- Adapt to new procedures, equipment, and company policies.
- Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives and plant objectives.
- Maintain a clean and healthy work environment.
