Surface Prep Technician with Security Clearance

V2X is hiring! We are looking for a Surface Prep Technician (2nd shift) to support the Modernization and Sustainment site in Indianapolis, Indiana. Responsibilities
* Removes coatings, excess material, and surface defects from items using revolving abrasive wheels, belts, and other specialized tools.
* Blends surface imperfections and coatings to achieve a uniform appearance.
* Prepares surfaces for subsequent processes, ensuring proper adhesion and finish quality.
* Smooths surfaces and produces specified finishes by using appropriate techniques and equipment.
* Selects abrasive materials, tools, and equipment according to the type of material, finish specification, and coating being removed.
* Replaces worn abrasive materials and tools.
* Examines parts for acceptability of finish and conformance to specifications.
* May be designated according to the type of material or process performed. Qualifications
* Ability to read and interpret prints, drawings, process routings, and specifications.
* Thorough knowledge of various types of metals, plastics, and other materials and their reactions to surface preparation operations.
* Knowledge of surface preparation techniques, abrasive materials, coating removal methods, and blending techniques.
* HS Diploma or GED required.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
