Quality Control Specialist
Kelly Services is hiring a Temporary Quality Control Inspector. Inspectors will perform component, packaging, information, process, and product quality checks to meet company objectives and customer expectations. Employees must act as role models for safety and promote safe work practices among their colleagues.
Essential Job Functions
- Execute quality checks on finished material
- Visually and physically inspect each unique impression position
- Perform moisture checks (Gravimetric, Aqua Measure, Max 1000, NDC, etc.)
- Conduct UPC scan quality rating
- Test glue weights (laboratory, NDC, etc.)
- Ensure registration, print, appearance, and other critical visual attributes
- Measure web width, repeat length, and other critical dimensions
- Produce color standards and product samples
- Conduct COF tests with TMI Monitor/Slip and friction tester
- Produce handmade popcorn bags for functional testing (microwave)
- Conduct prescribed testing, inspecting, and quality functions
- Execute quality checks on incoming raw materials, including:
- Wetting tension of metallized material
- Optical density of metallized films
- Qualitative method for determining Quilon treatment
- Solid check on incoming bulk adhesives
- Perform required lab tests, maintain records, and complete reports
- Learn and execute required computer skills (including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Communicate with shift supervisors and line operators regarding inadequate quality and unsafe actions/conditions
- Utilize all required personal protective equipment and work safely
- Learn new equipment, test procedures, and company policies
- Support all policies and maintain a clean and healthy work environment
- Willingness to work in a culture focused on continuous improvement and plant goals
Requirements
- Foods and pharmaceutical experience is REQUIRED
- Proven history of quality assurance in food and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Strong communication, safety practices, and problem-solving abilities
