Bioanalytical Scientist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bioanalytical Scientist to join our Large Molecule Assay Development team within Research and Breakthrough Innovation s laboratory-based position is focused on the development, validation, and execution of ligand-binding assays (LBAs) to quantify monoclonal antibodies and other protein therapeutics in biological matrices. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with immunoassay platforms and a deep understanding of the unique challenges associated with the bioanalysis of large molecules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and optimize ligand-binding assays (e.g., ELISA, MSD, Gyros) for the quantification of monoclonal antibodies in various biological fluids.
  • Perform fit-for-purpose bioanalytical methods according to internal SOPs and global regulatory guidelines, assessing assay performance characteristics such as accuracy, precision, selectivity, sensitivity, and stability.
  • Analyze samples from preclinical and clinical studies to provide high-quality data to our project teams.
  • Characterize, conjugate, and manage critical reagents (e.g., capture/detection antibodies, standards) to ensure long-term assay consistency and performance.
  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with assays. Evaluate and implement new technologies and platforms to improve assay sensitivity, throughput, and robustness.
  • Meticulously document all experimental procedures and results in an electronic lab notebook (ELN).
  • Work in a highly collaborative, cross-functional matrix environment, communicating effectively with team members at various levels.
What You Need to Succeed

Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Immunology, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline; OR
  • M.S. with 3+ years of relevant industry experience; OR
  • B.S. with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience developing, validating, and running ligand-binding assays (LBAs).
  • Strong understanding of the principles of pharmacokinetics for biologic drugs.
  • Proficiency with common immunoassay platforms, with ELISA experience as a minimum.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge

Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with advanced immunoassay platforms such as Meso Scale Discovery (MSD), Gyros, or Quanterix.
  • Experience with the development and validation of immunogenicity (Anti-Drug Antibody, ADA) assays.
  • Familiarity with cell-based neutralizing antibody (NAb) assays.
  • Strong data analysis skills and experience with relevant software (e.g., Soft Max Pro, Benchling).
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a high degree of scientific rigor.
