Bilingual Researcher For Pediatric Urology Clinical Trial

The Department of Pediatric Health Services Research is seeking a bilingual researcher that coordinates day-to-day research activities for a multisite pediatric urology clinical trial evaluating educational resources to support parent decision-making for children with hypospadias. This position supports recruitment and enrollment of approximately 324 parent-child participants and up to 24 pediatric urologists and clinical staff across participating sites, including IU Health, Riley Children's Hospital, Eskenazi Health, and collaborating institutions.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

• Coordinates informed consent activities both in English and Spanish and provides participants with study information, answers questions, and ensures required documentation is completed in accordance with the approved protocol and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates and tracks study assessments conducted at multiple time points, including electronic surveys, telephone surveys, and optional audio recordings of urology consultation visits.
• Schedules and coordinates research activities occurring from approximately 2 months before the urology appointment through up to 6 months following reconstructive surgery or the decision to pursue observation.
• Assists with multisite study coordination, communication, quality control, and ongoing monitoring to ensure consistency of study procedures across participating locations.
• Contributes to the collection, organization, and preparation of study data and participant information for ongoing study monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
• Collaborates with pediatric urologists, nurses, clinic staff, research personnel, and participating research sites to facilitate consistent study implementation and timely completion of study procedures.

Qualifications Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.

• Bachelor's degree in science or a health-related field and 2 years of clinical research experience; OR
• Associate's degree in science or a health-related field and 3 years of clinical research experience.

• Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA) / Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) clinical research certification upon date of hire.

Working Conditions / Demands The role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. The role frequently requires the ability to move about the work environment and to position oneself to operate laboratory equipment effectively. The role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
