Job Description

As a Security Officer - Part-Time Screening Desk in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Learn more:  As a Screener at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will support daily operations by conducting screening activities, monitoring assigned areas, and completing routine patrols where needed. You will remain a visible presence, communicate clearly with team members and visitors, and help identify and report security-related concerns. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen employees, visitors, and/or drivers for authorized entry by verifying identification and credentials, observing for prohibited items, and documenting screening activity per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting, completing required documentation, and communicating with site leadership and/or local responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior areas, loading docks, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or irregular conditions for reporting.
  • Monitor and operate access control points and related systems, such as doors, gates, alarms, radios, and cameras, and relay timely updates to appropriate contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
