Full-Time | Monday – Friday (with rotating on-call responsibilities)

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Service Technician to join our growing commercial and industrial service team in the Greater Indianapolis area. This role is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of commercial and industrial HVAC systems across a variety of facilities including manufacturing plants, distribution centers, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, office buildings, and industrial operations.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated technician with strong diagnostic abilities, experience servicing complex HVAC systems, and a commitment to safety, customer service, and quality workmanship.
Essential Responsibilities Service & Maintenance- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on commercial and industrial HVAC equipment.
- Diagnose and repair rooftop units (RTUs), air handling units (AHUs), chilled water systems, boilers, pumps, cooling towers, VAV systems, split systems, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, control, and refrigeration issues.
- Perform refrigerant recovery, leak detection, evacuation, charging, and startup procedures in compliance with EPA regulations.
- Inspect and service belts, bearings, motors, compressors, heat exchangers, dampers, valves, and associated mechanical components.
- Analyze HVAC system performance and identify root causes of equipment failures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and sequence of operations.
- Utilize gauges, meters, combustion analyzers, and diagnostic tools to evaluate equipment operation.
- Coordinate with controls and BAS technicians to resolve automation and system integration issues.
- Assist with equipment replacements, retrofits, and startup/commissioning activities.
- Install and modify HVAC components, piping, controls, and related accessories.
- Support energy-efficiency and system optimization initiatives.
- Complete detailed service reports, inspection documentation, and work orders.
- Communicate findings and repair recommendations to customers and management.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients while delivering exceptional service.
- Follow OSHA, EPA, lockout/tagout (LOTO), fall protection, confined space, and company safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
- Participate in safety meetings and ongoing technical training.
- Journeyman HVAC experience in commercial and/or industrial environments.
- EPA Universal Certification.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Strong troubleshooting experience with commercial HVAC equipment.
- Experience reading mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Ability to work independently in the field.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work on ladders, rooftops, lifts, and mechanical equipment.
- Journeyman HVAC License (where applicable).

- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Hydronic and steam systems
- Industrial process heating and cooling equipment
- Technical degree or completion of an HVAC apprenticeship program.
- Experience working in manufacturing, healthcare, higher education, or large commercial facilities.
- Advanced HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems and controls.
- Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles and airflow principles.
- Ability to prioritize service calls and manage time effectively.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proficiency using mobile service software, tablets, and digital work order systems.
