Painter Position
The Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Union Station is seeking a skilled and dependable Painter to help maintain the appearance and condition of the hotel's interior and exterior. This role is responsible for painting, wall vinyl repair and installation, drywall repairs, and surface preparation throughout the property. The ideal candidate has experience working with a variety of tools and materials, can work safely at varying heights and in confined spaces, and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship with exceptional attention to detail.
Responsibilities- Review work orders, blueprints, or instructions to determine project requirements.
- Prepare work areas by covering furniture, fixtures, and flooring, and setting up ladders or scaffolding as needed.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching, and removing old paint or wall coverings.
- Repair drywall, fill cracks and holes with appropriate materials, and ensure surfaces are smooth and ready for finishing.
- Mix paints and other materials to achieve the correct color, consistency, and finish.
- Apply paint, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, sprayers, and other appropriate tools.
- Install and repair wall vinyl and wallpaper as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while properly storing equipment and materials.
- Follow all hotel safety policies and OSHA guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist with maintaining the overall appearance of the property through preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Previous experience as a commercial or hospitality painter required.
- Experience installing and repairing vinyl and wallpaper.
- Strong knowledge of painting materials, surface preparation, and application techniques.
- Familiarity with drywall repair and finishing.
- Proficiency in using painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, sprayers, and caulking guns.
- Basic math skills for measuring and estimating materials.
- Ability to safely work on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
