Maintenance Supervisor

The purpose of this position is to provide supervision and direction of all maintenance activities at the assigned facility(s). Incumbent is responsible for providing maintenance and related services to the assigned facility in areas such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Building/Grounds maintenance, Health Care equipment, etc. and other related duties. This is a non-exempt position as applicable to the provisions of the FLSA.

Work is performed inside and outside of facility. Potential risk of exposure to all kinds of weather, dirty, dusty, and greasy conditions; bad smelling fumes and the possibility of scrapes, burns, infections and broken bones does exist in the performance of position duties. Driving a GSA vehicle is required.

Physical demands of the position require continuous standing, walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working within small or cramped quarters. Frequently carries, lifts, pulls, or pushes carts and equipment in the performance of duties. Incumbent must be able to lift at least fifty (50) pounds or more. Work is sometimes performed on ladders and/or scaffolds which requires overhead work or in a stretched, cramped or awkward position.

Incumbent shall be aware of normal risks and demands associated with the position.

Satisfactory job performance will be determined by successful execution or assistance with the following:

  • Help more inexperienced staff install, maintain and repair HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and related equipment in the health care facility following specifications, blueprints, manuals and instructions using various hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane, measuring instruments and testing instruments.
  • Repair and maintain the physical structure of the facility and surrounding buildings as required.
  • Take a lead role in the maintenance of boilers, chillers, generators, pumps, ATS switch gear, air handler units, and other major equipment as assigned.
  • Utilize the CMMS to record all work performed on electronic work orders. Complete assigned work orders and account for required man-hours in the system.
  • Moving of furnishings, equipment and supplies.
  • Attend and participate in meetings, training and seminars as directed by supervisor.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
