Duties
* Plans the work to be accomplished by subordinate civilian personnel; sets and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
* Interprets guidelines provided by installation, higher headquarters and other DOD agencies, assesses airfield mission requirements, establishes command goals, and makes decisions on how to accomplish objectives.
* Employee coordinates the scheduling of airfield activities with tenant and transient unit commands using the airfield, and coordinates with the Corps of Engineers and Directorate of Public Works or Construction and Facilities Management Officer.
* Employee administers and monitors the maintenance program for all assigned equipment and is the hand receipt holder and maintains property accountability for equipment.
* Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
* Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
* May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
* The employee will be required to take a drug test.
* Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
* Mission Essential: (not 'emergency' essential) - positions are subject to call back and work during nights, weekends, holidays, emergencies, and outside normal operating hours.
* Positions are operationally essential to aviation operations at the assigned airfield.

Shifts:
Airfield operating hours range from 16-24 hours per day, 5-7 days per week.
* State Issued Driver's License: AR 95-2 Ch 10 - airfield mgmt./ops, safety and electronics techs are required to perform various inspections around the airfield cantonment area daily on a daily basis.
* This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
* This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. Qualifications INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
EDUCATION:
Undergraduate and Graduate
Education:
Major study - accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, nautical science, marine affairs, marine engineering, marine transportation, or other fields related to the position. For Marine Transportation Specialist positions, education obtained in a Federal, State, or other accredited Merchant Marine Academy is qualifying. OR
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in maintaining, retailing, purchasing, or procurement of automotive, rail, air, bus, or other transportation equipment or services, or in the operation of a commercial transportation facility or terminal. This experience must have demonstrated knowledge of fleet operations; familiarity with Federal, State, and municipal regulations governing the use of transportation vehicles; and the maintenance of inventories and cost computations. EXPERIENCE:
Experience, education, or training performing, administering, or supervising technical and analytical work concerned with planning, development and execution of traffic policies and programs. Experience interpreting applicable Federal, State, and local laws, and regulations concerning transportation and traffic procedures. Knowledge of transportation requirements and systems for specific geographic areas (International and Continental United States). Knowledge of, and experience in, allocating aviation resources (manpower, real property) in order to implement aviation policies and procedures and manage airfield activities as well as a knowledge of airfield operations that include flight service/planning;
facility, crash/rescue procedures; aviation weather; communications with Air Traffic Control (ATC) and FAA facilities; aircraft service/refueling/maintenance facilities; and airfield security operations. Experience in managing the…
