SUMMARY
The Inventory and Logistics Specialist position incorporates advanced receiving skills required for kitting, certifying and warehousing aviation materials in support of an FAA PMA Production Approval operation. Reviewing and verifying parts traceability and certifications are some of the basic duties of the position. Familiarity with warehouse management software, company scan guns and MS Excel is preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Verify the purchase order and part number received.
+ Review supplied paperwork for proper and complete trace history per FAA requirements.
+ Review and verify the supplied paperwork for certifications or standards that meet PO requirements and adhere to the established company P & Ps.
+ Tag the inventory and build kits to support FAA conformity inspections.
+ Maintain files of certifications for accepted inventories.
+ Review drop shipment paperwork.
+ Work with purchasing to maintain adequate levels of inventory needed for kitting requirements.
+ Coordinate kitting and receiving activity with AAR QC department.
+ Prepare shipments, operate forklift and coordinate shipment of approved articles to customer, including coordination with freight forwarders.
+ Provide proper receipt, storage, and shelf life of hazardous materials and prepare and ship HAZMAT.
+ Perform teardowns of kits and research inventory issues.
+ Support cycle counts and assist in the reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
+ Support training Receiving Technicians.
+ All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous forklift and MS Excel experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must read/write English
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The candidate for this position should be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. They must also comply with the standards set by OSHA for lifting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The environment characteristic for this position is a warehouse setting. Candidate should be able to adapt to a traditional warehouse environment.
