Important: This position requires an active Iowa State electrical license at the Journeyman level or higher. If you do not currently hold an Iowa Journeyman, Master, or equivalent qualifying electrical license, this is not the role to apply for.

WhatYou’ll Own
- Lead electrical work in residential and/or commercial environments, from rough-in to final inspection, while maintaining Burkhead Electric standards from start to finish
- Perform installations, upgrades, repairs, service calls, and troubleshooting with a disciplined focus on safety, quality, code compliance, and customer experience
- Use consistent processes to diagnose issues, complete work efficiently, and create a reliable experience across every job type
- Follow the National Electrical Code, manufacturer requirements, local jurisdiction rules, and company standards without compromise
- Support apprentices and team members by modeling focused, professional, process-driven work habits
- Communicate clearly with homeowners, builders, general contractors, customers, and colleagues to keep work moving with clarity and accountability
- Look ahead, identify potential issues early, and take ownership of solutions that move the team and customer experience forward
Active Iowa State electrical license at the Journeyman level or higher is required. This includes an Iowa Journeyman, Master, or other Iowa-recognized license level that qualifies you to perform electrical work at or above journeyman status.
6+ years of electrical experience in residential, commercial, service, new construction, remodel, or a combination of these environments
Strong troubleshooting skills and working knowledge of residential and/or commercial wiring, electrical systems, and code compliance
Proven ability to work independently, stay focused, and complete large tasks without needing constant oversight
A team-first mindset that values accountability, coaching, shared standards, and continuous improvement
Willingness to learn, adapt, follow documented processes, and improve based on evidence—not ego
Excellent communication and customer service abilities
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable climbing ladders and working in attics, crawl spaces, unfinished spaces, job sites, and varying weather conditions
