Brush Facility Monitor

Overview

The City of Indianola is currently welcoming applications for the position of Brush Facility Monitor for the Public Work Department.

The City of Indianola (pop. 16,069) is a growing community with a historic downtown, located approximately 15 minutes south of Des Moines. It is a safe community with Midwestern values, friendly people and excellent schools. Indianola, which is home to Simpson College, the world-renowned Des Moines Metro Opera and the National Balloon Museum and U.S. Ballooning Hall of Fame, is known for its excellent access to outdoor activities, a nice trail system, five major parks and two golf courses.

The community welcomes thousands of visitors annually who come to Indianola to enjoy major events such as the National Balloon Classic, the Warren County Fair and other events.

• Supervise, collect fees and report on activities at assigned facility.
• Act as a host by greeting and directing residential users.
• Monitor the facility for unauthorized use.
• Ensure residents are abiding by facility regulations.

This is a seasonal position that works during April through November. Working hours will vary, estimated at 18 hours bi-weekly. The brush facility is open Thursday, 12pm - 7pm (or dusk), Saturday, 9am - 4pm and Sunday, 12pm - 4pm.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to give instructions, enforce facility rules and collect user fees.

The hourly wage for this position starts at $12.50/hour. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a post-offer drug screening and background check. Position is open until filled.
