As Stewarding Lead
, you will serve as the backbone of our stewarding team—ensuring every plate, piece of silverware, and cookware sparkles to Hyatt standards. You’ll coordinate operations, guide your team, and maintain impeccable cleanliness and organization throughout our food service venues. Your role is key to seamless service and guest satisfaction.
The pay rate for this position is $17.00-$20.40 hourly. This is the pay rate for this position that The Grand Hyatt Indian Wells reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, such as experience and education.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise the daily stewarding operations across all food & beverage outlets, including banquet events.
Oversee the cleaning, polishing, and accurate staging of china, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and culinary equipment.
Execute opening and closing checklists, ensuring all tasks—from equipment sanitation to inventory prep—are completed.
Assign duties, distribute supplies (napkins, condiments, cutlery), and coordinate with banquets or catering teams to align on service flow.
Work collaboratively with culinary leadership to uphold Hyatt’s service standards.
Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards, including proper use of PPE and compliance with rinse temperatures and chemical protocols.
Lift, push, and pull a moderate to heavy volume of materials; ensure dish machines and workstations are maintained in top condition.
Support inventory control—track equipment, flag repairs or replacements, and coordinate with purchasing or storeroom as needed.
Serve as a resource for team members, proactively addressing concerns and promoting a positive, teamwork-focused environment.

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant hospitality certifications are a plus.
At least 1–2 years’ experience stewarding in a high-volume or banquet setting; leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively, multi-task under pressure, and maintain strong attention to detail.
Strong verbal communication and organizational skills; ability to follow both verbal and written instructions precisely.
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to ~50 lbs, with capacity to push/pull heavy loads.
Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts.
