Key Responsibilities:Lead the Team:
Supervise hourly cooks and help train the department.
Step Up:
Take charge of the kitchen and manage daily operations when the Sous Chef is away.
Quality Control:
Make sure every plate meets Hyatt’s high standards and is served on time.
Operations:
Help monitor payroll and costs to keep the kitchen running efficiently.
A solid background in culinary arts and kitchen operations.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Basic computer skills and an understanding of how to manage costs.
QualificationsEducation:
A degree or certificate from a culinary school is preferred.
Experience:
You should have a few years of experience working in a professional kitchen, ideally within a hotel or resort.
Leadership Background:
Previous experience as a Lead Cook or in a similar supervisory role where you’ve managed others.
Knowledge of Costs: A basic understanding of how food costs, inventory, and labor (like overtime) affect the kitchen's budget.
Communication
Skills:
You must be able to speak and write clearly to coordinate with your team and other departments.
Tech
Skills:
Basic computer knowledge for things like checking schedules, emails, or logging hours.
Certifications:
You’ll need a valid food handler’s card or manager’s food safety certification.
