Position Summary
Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures by following established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines; inspecting, cleaning, and repairing facilities, equipment, or fixtures; observing and documenting signs of wear and tear; gathering capital expense information; recommending repair needs to eliminate ongoing and future repairs; determining replacement needs; and documenting preventive maintenance activities.
Performs major and minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures by utilizing multiple craft skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment); inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues; dismantling equipment, machines, or facilities to access and remove defective parts; diagnosing problems using blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs; utilizing hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment;
providing prompt response to emergency calls; and documenting repair activities.
Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing and providing required written and electronic information (expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs); conducting price comparisons; ordering parts and replacement equipment and tracking orders; recording purchases and usage; submitting warranty claims; complying with OSHA and EPA regulations; ensuring quality work fulfills federal, state, and local regulations; ensuring contractors follow Walmart quality standards and safety requirements;
identifying and reporting deficiencies; unloading and storing equipment; and transporting equipment between facilities.
Leads and participates in teams by sharing resources, determining customer needs and business priorities, coordinating and executing work assignments, providing advice, feedback, and support to achieve timelines and work quality, and modeling and helping others adapt to change or new challenges.
Develops, communicates, and implements processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and partners; analyzing information from multiple sources; monitoring progress; and identifying improvement opportunities.
Demonstrates compliance with company policies, procedures, ethics, and integrity, guiding employees in applying these principles and assisting management with correcting ethical and compliance issues.
Qualifications- 2 years of experience in the electrical trade.
- Licensed Journeyman Electrician or equivalent in the state of employment.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Eligibility for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical trade program.
- Intermediate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- License in a related trade in the city and/or state where the job is located.
