• Overseeing all aspects of data protection and privacy within Ruangguru products, within the scope of:
• Develop, review, and update data protection policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
• Provide guidance and support to ensure that data handling practices across the organization align with legal requirements and best practices
• Develop and deliver privacy awareness for employees to raise awareness of data protection obligations
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address privacy risks and implement appropriate controls.
• Advising on general business law issues and managing the legal issues of all areas of the company, including but not limited to corporate matters, procurement, IPs, security, and others
• Engage, partner, liaise with, and manage internal stakeholders (e.g. business units and senior management team) and external stakeholders (e.g. counterparts and external counsels) on ad‑hoc projects and as needed to support the Company objectives and advice on legal risks and opportunities related to their strategies and business goals
• Together with other legal team members, develop and conduct engaging internal trainings for internal partners on various legal‑related topics on commercial aspects as to reduce risk
• Support a broad range of general corporate legal matters, legal documents filing, and other legal affairs that crop up in the day‑to‑day operations of a rapidly evolving edutech company

• Proven solid experience as in‑house legal counsel or experienced lawyers in reputable law firms with 2-4+ years of experience
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia due to the nature of the business
• Having experience in review and/or drafting agreements and adept at identifying key terms and ensuring legal compliance of the products.
• Extensive knowledge of data protection laws and regulations
• Demonstrate a keen ability to issue‑spot sensitive legal and business concerns, including a strong sense of when to escalate such matters to internal partners, and proactively propose solutions
• A highly approachable, collegial, and collaborative approach, aiming to building bridges and balancing needs across a rapidly changing organization and able to empathize through differences of view and values of others
• An accountable and proactive self‑starter, comfortable working independently and remotely with colleagues
• Strong leadership, organizational, negotiation, and project management skills
• Having a DPO and/or PERADI license and/or masters degree would be a good plus
