Commercial Superintendent

Plays key role in managing and overseeing commercial aspects of projects, ensuring effective management of contracts, financials, and risks to optimize project success. The main goals are that relevant project division understand and be aware of the contractual rights and obligations under head contract and in respect of Subcontracts.

• Assist to prepare “Rights and Obligations Summaries” for both the Head Contracts and Subcontractors for use by the Project team, enabling the project team to manage contract compliance and execution.
• Manage claims and variations in collaboration with project teams to maximize entitlements and avoid disputes, achieving timely submission and approval of claims/variations.
• Identify and mitigate contractual risks in Head Contracts and Subcontracts, ensuring compliance with project requirements and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.
• Draft and strategize head contract letters/notices, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and minimizing risks; develop standard contract letters/notices for subcontractor management.
• Set up subcontracts/supply agreements in conjunction with the Commercial Manager & SCM, implementing standard Subcontract/Supply agreements templates.
• Formulate and administer subcontracts, with major compliance references to the Head Contract basis and best practice to protect PTP.
• Review and advise on dispute resolution and appraisal of contractual entitlements of Head and/or subcontract issues, achieving satisfactory win/win resolutions.
• Coordinate and facilitate collaboration between commercial, technical, and operational divisions to ensure alignment in contract administration, cost control, risk management, and project execution.
• Lead the preparation and implementation of the Contract Management Plan and Subcontract Management Plan, ensuring zero major non‑compliance issues during audits.
• Maintain and actively implement SHE programs and responsibilities, including SHE management system compliance with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, SMK3 & SMKP standards, and target zero LTI.

Bachelor’s degree in construction related discipline, such as Commercial & Legal, Engineer, QS, with demonstrated expertise in contract administration, claims management, and dispute resolution.

• Min. 5+ years of experience in contract administration, commercial management, or procurement within construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrates ethical behavior, professionalism, and a positive attitude during team collaboration.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a proactive approach to risk identification and resolution.
• Experience working in cross‑functional teams across different divisions.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities (fluent in English and Bahasa, both verbal and written).
