Role

The Wedding Sales Manager is responsible for developing the market segment(s) assigned and soliciting new business and accounts while maintaining existing relationships with current accounts. Consistently striving to maximize revenue and promote relationships through effective negotiation and upselling of meeting space rentals, package prices, and food and beverage services. This position is accountable for booking corporate meetings and/or weddings and social events, including handling group business during stay in the property.

What

will I be doing?
  • Selling all banquet facilities of the hotel in specific, and selling of overall hotel facilities in general
  • Work closely with Catering & Events Team Members in securing new/potential business and accounts
  • Maintain relationships on all accounts and solicit new business in the assigned segment
  • Submit specific strategy on the assigned segment according to each unique needs to be able to gain the commitment of support
  • Submit weekly sales activity plan, including sales calls, tele sales, and/or site inspections and submit reports in the following week
  • Entertainment of clients with recognized potential, particularly in the assigned segment
  • Represent the hotel and brand through projecting a professional appearance, conduct and integrity
  • Coordinate account management and reports with other Catering & Events Team members for the Assistant Director of Sales
  • Prepares banquet quotations and event orders
  • Attend daily, weekly, and monthly meetings to support business operations
  • Conduct site inspections and property tours with potential customers, visiting guest rooms, meeting spaces, banquet facilities, and any other hotel facilities
  • Keeps a record on former, existing, and potential clients and a profile of each of them
  • Up to date with changes and new information on the competitor
  • Engage in sales activities outside of the hotel to meet with and entertain customers and prospective customers, participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and community events to promote the hotel, maintain contacts, and close the deal
  • Achieve and/or exceed the revenue targeted for the assigned segment
  • Submit reports on a weekly basis and monthly basis, including a monthly production report of the assigned segment
  • Monthly review on productivity, strategy & challenges
  • Maintain a good working relationship with other departments and employees
  • Complete all related training required, both online and offline/in class
  • Offer guidance and assistance to the Catering & Events Executive and Coordinator
What are we looking for?
  • University graduate.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar capacity with international chain hotels.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English to meet business needs.
  • Good team player and able to manage by example.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Have hotel sales experience and hotel database.
  • Able to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
  • Very familiar with the local market and good at marketing trend analysis.
