Role Description The Calligrapher & Artist will create visually compelling handwritten artwork and lettering for on-camera demonstrations, product tests, and social media content. In this full-time, on-site role based in Indore, the individual will use various pens, markers, brushes, and papers to showcase stationery performance in real-world art and writing scenarios. Daily tasks include planning and executing calligraphy and illustration concepts, preparing sample sheets, helping design layouts for thumbnails and visuals, and collaborating with the content and production teams to align artwork with video scripts.
The role also involves organizing and maintaining art materials, contributing creative ideas for new stationery tests, and ensuring that each piece of artwork clearly highlights product strengths and limitations. The Calligrapher & Artist will support a consistent visual style that reflects Student Yard’s focus on precision, clarity, and learning.
Qualifications
Strong artistic foundation in Calligraphy and Lettering, with the ability to produce clean, consistent strokes and visually engaging compositions.
Proficiency in Drawing and Typography, including layout, spacing, and visual hierarchy suitable for both print-style samples and on-screen visuals.
Applied Writing skills to create short phrases, headings, and samples that clearly demonstrate how stationery performs in everyday and creative use.
Experience working with a variety of stationery tools (pens, markers, brushes, inks, papers) and an understanding of how to test and compare them visually.
Ability to collaborate with video creators and editors, follow creative briefs, and adapt art style to different content formats.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and organization of artwork and materials in a studio or on-set environment.
Previous experience in a studio, design, or content-creation setting is an advantage; a portfolio of calligraphy and illustration work is required.
Relevant education or training in Fine Arts, Design, Visual Communication, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory if skills are demonstrated through a portfolio.
