Position Overview:

The HVAC Maintenance Technician handles the upkeep and routine servicing of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in homes. This proactive maintenance helps extend the life of the HVAC system, keeps energy costs down, and maintains a comfortable environment for homeowners.

Your Day-to-Day:
  • Preventive Maintenance
    :
Inspect, clean, and adjust HVAC components to ensure everything runs efficiently. This can involve checking filters, coils, and ductwork to improve air quality and system performance.
  • System Diagnostics
    :
Troubleshoot HVAC issues, using tools to assess airflow, thermostat function, and other system components. If any parts need repair or replacement, they identify the problem areas.
  • Cleaning and Replacing Parts
    :
Over time, dirt and debris build up in HVAC systems, so technicians clean or replace filters, coils, fans, and other parts to maintain efficiency.
  • Monitoring System Performance
    :
Measure factors like refrigerant levels, airflow, and electrical connections to prevent breakdowns.
  • Customer Interaction
    :
Explain maintenance procedures and energy-saving tips to homeowners, providing guidance on how to operate their systems more efficiently.
What Does It Take?
  • 1+ years of field experience in construction services or skilled trades, preferably HVAC
  • Possess mechanical aptitude
  • Computing skills and able to use a computer, laptop or tablet
  • Valid Driver's license with clean and safe driving history
  • EPA Type 2 or Universal certification preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an eagerness to learn
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Safety is always on your mind. Whether it be on the road, or in the field.
Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, and work in confined spaces. Technicians must be able to lift and carry up to 50-75 pounds, safely use ladders, tools, and equipment, and work in attics, crawl spaces, basements, and outdoor environments with varying temperatures and conditions.
