What You Will Do:
- Provide technical leadership and direct support to maintenance teams for troubleshooting, repair, and reliability improvement of mechanical systems including valves, pumps, motors, mixers, bearings, actuators, seals, petroleum quality equipment and measurement systems.
- Coordinate maintenance strategies, programmatic repairs, and corrective action plans to address recurring reliability issues and enhance equipment performance.
- Support lifecycle management of mechanical assets by analyzing performance data, maintenance history, and risk factors to inform repair, replacement, and spare parts strategies.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to plan and execute outages, shutdowns, and major maintenance activities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and minimal operational disruption.
- Lead and promote preventive and predictive maintenance best practices, including vibration analysis, oil analysis, and non-destructive testing techniques.
- Conduct and support root cause failure analysis (RCFA), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to resolve equipment failures and drive long-term reliability gains.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to improve job plans, standards, procedures, and training programs, while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Ten-plus years of previous field operations experience, or equivalent mix of formal education such as 2‑year mechanical technical or vocational diploma combined with field experience, demonstrating strong applied mechanical capability in operational environments.
- Strong experience in mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment reliability, including knowledge of valves, motors, pumps, mixers, valve actuators, mechanical seals, bearings, petroleum quality equipment, and related mechanical systems, with the ability to support related measurement systems.
- Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices, reliability tools, and maintenance planning processes, including non‑destructive testing, vibration analysis, oil analysis, and other maintenance and diagnostic techniques.
- Ability to analyze equipment issues, solve complex problems, prioritize work, and develop practical maintenance, repair, lifecycle, and outage support recommendations with limited supervision.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across maintenance, engineering, operations, and technical support teams.
- Strong organizational, computer, and documentation skills, with the ability to support data review, reporting, maintenance planning, technical recordkeeping, and critical spares planning.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new maintenance concepts and technologies, lead, and adapt to change, think strategically, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Knowledge of oil and gas pipeline operations, product movement, applicable maintenance practices, and related industry standards.
- A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Experience supporting related measurement systems and collaborating with measurement maintenance activities.
- Experience in reliability engineering, maintenance planning, programmatic repair coordination, lifecycle management, and outage support.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis, failure analysis, and applicable regulatory and safety requirements.
- Work is performed in a combination of field and office environments, with approximately 50% of time spent in the field and 50% in the office.
- Availability for emergency callout and after‑hours support is required through mobile communications and other established contact methods.
- Extended hours and short‑notice response may be required to support maintenance activities, outages, or emergency events.
- Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions, including heat and cold, as well as high‑noise environments and areas where product or solvent vapors may be present.
