Position Summary:

AAA United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Lockport, LA that is the leading provider of quality construction, manufacturing, engineering, repair, and conversion products and services to the marine industry.

A 1st Class Aluminum Welder is responsible for welding aluminum structural components used in shipbuilding and marine fabrication.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum components for shipbuilding and marine structures.
  • Weld plates, frames, bulkheads, and other structural assemblies according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and work instructions.
  • Prepare materials by cleaning, grinding, and fitting prior to welding.
  • Ensure proper weld penetration, alignment, and structural integrity.
  • Inspect welds for quality, defects, and compliance with standards.
  • Perform repairs or rework on defective welds as needed.
  • Operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
  • Work in confined spaces, heights, and various shipyard conditions.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including PPE and OSHA regulations.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of aluminum welding experience shipyard preferred.
  • Strong experience with MIG (GMAW) and/or TIG (GTAW) aluminum welding.
  • Ability to pass a hands-on weld test.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
  • Experience with marine or heavy industrial fabrication environments.
  • Knowledge of distortion control and aluminum welding techniques.
