Certified Welding Inspector – CWI (Regular, Full Time)
Intertek, a Nationally Recognized Testing Lab (NRTL) and leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is actively seeking an experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our Technical Inspection Services team in Ingleside, TX.
Shift / ScheduleRegular, full-time, working at least 50 hours per week.
LocationIngleside, TX.
What You'll Do- Capture results of inspections and observations and report them in a timely manner.
- Ensure suppliers and contractors have relevant, up‑to‑date codes, standards, specifications, and drawings.
- Interface professionally with discipline engineers, construction engineers, field workers, and inspectors.
- Witness and monitor suppliers’ and contractors’ work activities, inspection, and testing in accordance with the approved Quality Plan, ITP, and Quality Procedures.
- Assist in reviewing the Quality Plan, Inspection & Test Plan (ITP), and Quality Procedures and associated QA/QC documentation prior to commencement of any fabrication or construction work.
- Verify that correct and sufficient materials are available on site.
- Verify implementation of PTW (permit to work), LOTO (lock‑out and tag‑out), and other safety procedures.
- Walk long distances, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and stand for extended durations.
- Reach in all directions with good visual acuity for color, depth perception, and field of vision.
- Work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Determine job‑related hazards and recognize when hazards change.
- Exclude the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
- Preferably hold current certification in Swagelok and Parker tubing fitting installation (expired certification acceptable based on experience).
- Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
- Experience in construction welding inspection.
- Proficiency in use and calibration of welding inspection tools.
- Ability to monitor in‑process welding applications and verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, and job requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
