As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
DetailsWe are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Inglewood, CA
- In-Person Tutoring in Inglewood, CA
- Schedule: 2 sessions a week for 1.15 hours
- Pay range is between $25 and $35
- Experience working with students with Autism and/or Intellectual Disabilities
- Background in special education, ABA, or related field strongly preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
- Patience, consistency, and a nurturing, structured approach to learning
- Ability to collaborate with families and other professionals (e.g., therapists, case managers)
- Deliver intensive, individualized instruction in early literacy using a structured, phonics-based approach with multi-sensory activities, visual supports, and repetition to support the development of letter/sound recognition and decoding skills.
- Support emerging math skills
, including number sense, one-to-one correspondence, and introductory addition, using hands‑on manipulatives, visual aids, and step‑by‑step instruction. - Reinforce language comprehension and expressive communication
, with a strong emphasis on visual cues, prompting strategies, and alternative communication supports. - Assist with fine motor skill development and early writing tasks, including letter formation and name writing, in coordination with occupational therapy goals.
- Implement behavioral strategies in line with ABA principles to manage frustration and reduce self‑injurious or aggressive behaviors, ensuring a safe and structured learning environment.
- Provide opportunities for movement‑based learning and integrate preferred activities such as bubbles, water play, and jumping to engage the student and build rapport.
- Maintain clear, predictable routines with visual schedules and consistent reinforcement to promote emotional regulation and task completion.
