Position: MANUFACTURING ENGINEER III (ELECTRICAL)

Position Summary

This position requires a strong background in manufacturing with a major emphasis on electrical and electromechanical components and assemblies. It also requires experience in manufacturing electrical assemblies and electromechanical components.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Supporting production of electromechanical/electronic equipment (airborne and land based) and ensuring products are built to specifications and engineering documents.
  • Testing and troubleshooting analog and digital electronics down to the component level.
  • Reviewing Test Requirement specifications and writing test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
  • Establishing methods of test and equipment required to accomplish them.
  • Documenting test results and test progress reports.
  • Performing failure analysis and writing a report including corrective action.
  • Assessing assembly and test processes, performing time studies, and recommending lean practices to improve process.
  • Providing feedback to improve product design for ease of manufacturing.
  • Breaking down customer engineering requirements per drawing to create manufacturing planning, bills of material (BOM), liaising with manufacturing personnel to improve processes, and troubleshooting assembly problems.
Skills And Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and testing of electromechanical assemblies.
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Must be able to work on a variety of electromechanical/electronic assemblies (wire harnesses, PCBs, etc.).
  • Must be able to read and understand electrical schematics and GD&T.
  • Strong knowledge of both analog and digital theory.
  • Must be able to use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital meters, and power supplies.
  • Working knowledge of ERP System (SAP preferred).
  • Strong process management, process improvement, problem solving and cost reduction skills.
  • Knowledge of design of jigs and tooling for electrical applications used for assembly of the final product.
  • Must be able to perform basic measurement and inspection processes.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in creation of Manufacturing Planning for product realization.
  • Must have experience with MIL-STD documents and interpretation of ASME Y14.5.
  • Must be able to write engineering reports that include analysis and results.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products is essential.

  • Medium-to-large office environment.
  • Fast paced office environment.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments.
