The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor, plays a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles. Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS). Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment.

Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. For over 60 years we have maintained “A Tradition of Excellence”, serving as a trusted source for our unwavering commitment to supporting all branches of the Department of Defense and our global allies. Our collaboration extends across a diverse array of programs and platforms, including major military prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.

Purpose

This position ensures consistent quality of production by enforcing the quality management system (QMS), fulfilling the role of quality expert. Assures the quality of the parts produced meet and exceeds all of the customers' requirements and expectations; quickly and effectively take action when non‐conformances are found. Maintains the most recent interpretation of the QMS requirements and ensures documented practices meet the interpretation of the QMS.

Participates in development and implementation of new and existing QMS processes. Assists cross functional and project team members as required. Participates in problem solving and continuous improvement activities, product and process analysis with the ability to recognize and recommend new and emerging technologies and methods.

Job Duties
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of quality engineering personnel.
  • Validate that the implementation of quality assurance measures meet all specifications required by the company and customers.
  • Resolve customer complaints and concerns and active participation on root cause and corrective actions as required.
  • Provide engineering and technical support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques.
  • Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution, implementing action plans, and providing resources.
  • Effectively communicate and reinforce commitment to quality improvement efforts and champion the quality culture.
  • Recommend changes to processes based upon findings and perform follow up to verify effectiveness.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to ensure department personnel can obtain skills and knowledge necessary to successfully perform duties and responsibilities of job.
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, contracts, sales, program management, purchasing, engineering, production, and quality personnel to determine product and process compliance.
  • Support non‐conforming material disposition.
  • Support the MLS’s RMA process and its improvements.
  • Prioritize department’s functions and responsibilities to support the on time delivery and quality requirements.
  • Spearhead MLS’s continuous process improvement initiatives and drive to successful execution.
  • Analytical and data driven skills and ability to manage and maintain relevant KPIs.
  • Perform technical and contractual review of contracts and purchase orders to ensure requirements flow down.
  • Assemble and review end‑item data packages/first articles prior to customer submittal and shipments
  • Own and drive the MLS’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) as well as internal and external audit functions.
  • Strong technical, manufacturing, industry and business knowledge, experience, and acumen.
  • Ability to manage the quality department while performing hands on responsibilities as assigned.
  • Contribute in a team environment, be flexible, and volunteer support to meet team goals
  • Support inspectors and inspection activities as required.
  • Perform other related work as required.
