Position Overview
Join Burlington Stores as an Asset Protection Field Investigator, where you will support the company’s objectives by directing investigations in high‑risk stores and collaborating with store and field teams to reduce theft and fraud.
Day in the Life- Direct and oversee investigative processes at assigned locations.
- Ensure investigations meet company core values, legal, and ethical standards.
- React quickly to leads with Burlington Investigations Center.
- Develop relationships and open lines of communication with store and field leaders.
- Execute deep‑dive methodology to address theft trends at the local store and market level.
- Work with supply chain, third‑party providers, and appropriate law enforcement partners.
- Coordinate cross‑functional activities with Asset Protection, Shortage Control, Safety, HR, Legal, and Training & Development teams.
- Conduct trend analysis of inventory shortages, internal and external theft, and other indicators, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Adjust training methods and communications as warranted to mitigate civil exposure and correct policy deviations.
- Partner to create learning activities, knowledge checks, and assessments to enhance learning adaptation.
- Conduct training seminars with asset‑protection leadership through various mediums (in‑store, via Web Ex, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years of Retail Asset Protection experience.
- Strategic understanding of retail loss prevention and a proven record of influencing change.
- Experience conducting internal investigative interviews and managing external apprehension programs with successful resolution of incidents.
- Wicklander‑Zulawski Interviewing Certificate and CFI (Certified Forensic Interviewer) are a plus.
- Creative thinking with ability to translate abstract ideas into tactical concepts.
- Training facilitation experience.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Confident leadership with a strong sense of integrity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Functional knowledge of Excel, Power‑Point, and Word.
- Knowledge of security processes, systems, equipment, and reporting tools preferred.
Compensation range: $65,000 – $80,000.
Full‑time associates are eligible for paid time off, paid holidays, and a 401(k) plan.
