A day in this role
Your morning kicks off in the shop reviewing the day’s work orders. You load your company-provided vehicle with tools, parts, and safety gear, then head to customer sites. On any given day, you might:
Install and commission sectional, rolling steel, storefront, hollow metal, and automatic door systems—verifying alignment, balance, and code compliance.
Diagnose complex issues (springs, hinges, locks, controls, electrical/low-voltage) and complete precise repairs the first time.
Set up hardware such as closers, handles, access control, and safety sensors; fine-tune for smooth, safe operation.
Communicate findings clearly, outline repair options, and offer cost-effective recommendations.
Document work thoroughly—photos, parts used, labor hours—and perform quality checks against Vortex’s high standards.
Back at the branch, you’ll debrief, order parts, and prepare for tomorrow—supported by a team that values craftsmanship and safety.
